News is exciting to the young and old alike, if it fits into their belief-systems. Man thinks no news is good news because he fears that news may bring in tidings which do not fit his beliefs. He needs to understand that no news is good news and also that any news is good news, for all news is illusory in a world which is illusory. News that conveys this understanding is good news.

Excerpt from new article

Old Age

“Stark reminder”

The start of life as birth is a moment of joy and merriment and signals impending celebrations. It is universal and the scale of celebrations reflects how opulent the concerned parents are. The same run of emotions accompanies the purchase of a new object, and there are many, and so the celebrations are many and varied. Celebrations ensue after the purchase of a house too. Article ‘Old Age’.

Julian Capper, U.K

Such a beautiful and moving understanding of life and of those who pass through its inevitable cycle. This article by Dr Shankar gives us all the opportunity to witness the phases in life with dignity and silent reverence, and so to accord dignity and silent reverence to those we meet.

Gerard Benerink, Netherlands

Thank You for making more clear about 'transforming'. What a miracle transforming must be. This article expresses the gratitude and respect Dr Shankar has to the aged.

Article ‘Devil’

Julian Capper, U.K

Devil is one of those myths none of us is really certain about. Does he exist or does he not exist? In church, he is certainly used to threaten the congregation; on the podium, statesmen, so-called, use  him as a benchmark to berate the enemy and stir up the people's passion. This article does neither. Dr. Shankar simplifies the meaning of the term 'devil' as an idea that has as much validity as any other in the illusory world of illusion.

Article ‘Family’

Riet, Netherlands

The article 'Family'  impressed me in a heavy way. I wished my husband back. You gave me  a deeper understanding. Thank You.

Academy

Carla van Haaften, Netherlands

Let me congratulate you with the Academy of Absolute Understanding.

The impact of it will indeed be incomprehensible by the mind.

I was particularly struck and moved by the beautiful logo of the AAU.

The colours in their order represent for me a reversal of time in nature.

Time in nature is growth: the unmanifested (blue), the youth (green), adults (yellow) and the autumn colours of the various phases of old age (orange and red). An inversion of these colours (red -yellow -blue) must indicate the return to innocence.

The form of the letters in their order indicate to me the moving of the individual from ego to life. First the ego is firmly sheltered in the acute bounderies of its mind. Than wisdom will bring light in these bounderies and in time they will melt as a fake shelter. Finally when the individual dares to give up totally, he will find himself bedded in 'under-standing' life.

And then there are those three words: Academy, Absolute and Understanding. Are they not a course in itself?

Academy points to learning. The mind, which thinks it knows will not enter the process. Absolute points to the relativeness of everything. The mind which does not consider itself as relative will not progress.

Understanding points to understanding which excludes knowing. There words do not exist, while life does. May life be honored for its greatness.

Dr. Shankar

Thank you for sending in your congratulations and insights.

In nature time is absent but if you meant it metaphorically then it is fine.

Yes life needs to be honoured. But man does not as yet, because he has not understood.

Article ‘More’

Julian Capper, U.K

To discover how fully the concept of 'more' has dominated man's thinking and actions throughout his life is the gift of this article. 'More' is constantly on the tongue such that no matter what a man receives it can never be enough. This article itself is the understanding; it is the realisation of the extraordinary nature of the illusory 'more'. Without 'more', this chapter and its content could never have been written and gifted to man.

Randy Breuer, Netherlands

The article “More” is a delight to read. I have cherished the wildest ambitions and even enlightenment became one of these silly dreams. I was convinced life was deficient in every possible way and was very sure of one thing: “this, as it is, can’t be it”. I have noticed, however, that as the conviction that differences are real fades, the admiration of variety grows. And admiration reveals that every moment suffices. You say that the examination of mind is a wonderful happening to any man. I fully agree. It is stunning to “taste” the trustworthiness of life.

Article ‘Grace’

Julian Capper, U.K

Oh, gracious me! Long since has grace itself been consigned to the lamentation of the mind. How effectively the mind's conjurings obscures the reality that is grace - and yet this obscurity is truly gracious. Such is the understanding that permeates this chapter of this most sought after and yet so malunderstood energy that is life itself.
