Son, this volume is life as every man sees it, but does not understand it rightly. This book brings in the understanding that man misses.

The book "Fire" is truly a compilation of answers given to questions so that questioning can end!! This is truly offering help that once helped man needs no further help, with this and the 4 other companions air, water, earth, space & time surely can make man stand on his own two feet. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question: Even when I am sad I can't be better

Shankar: You are as of now and every moment just perfect as perfect can be! Do not try to better or improve on what God has manifested. You will only fail; this is the cause of all the sadness and misery. Trying to improve God's work! How ignorant one can get to be! God is your form! You are not but only God is. The buck ends here.

Thanks to Gerard for driving the books to Amsterdam and I was able to read the book on the plane-ride home.

Gerards's response was ever so brilliant!!!!! "That's fire, Diane" he said, further he mentioned: (translated it to English) ‘I think the compliment should be granted to Dr. Shankar who has been waiting patiently 10 years for this book to be printed to help humanity!!!!!!!!
Gerard is so spot on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How AMAZING that we can be part of this celebration shortly by this month end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a man Gerard is indeed, He is sooooooo right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How amazing that we can have this treasure kept by you safely for so long. It will be shortly now in everyone’s hands to read, enjoy and utilize as a help that needs no further help, it will be here forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Early in the morning I came back from the South to Amsterdam, to bring some flowers for Sages Day. While driving a song popped up in my head 'O happy day" and I was singing it loudly in the car. I felt so happy to come to You and to have the opportunity to pay respect to You and the lineage of all the great Masters such as Shri Shirdi Sai Baba, Shri Ramana Maharshi and Shri Nisargadatta Maharaj, who came to help us to find our way back to our true self.  Like the wise beings before, You have given us the greatest gift possible by sharing your life and wisdom. Your Satsangs, books, CDs and DVDs explain the mind in all facets to help us understand the illusory nature of the mind. This gift is invaluable and the most precious gift of all. It is a privilege that You live so close by in Amsterdam, especially on this day. I am so grateful to be in the place where you are present today and to express my respect and gratitude to You and to all the great Sages. To be in the same place where You are was enough for me, I would never miss this opportunity. Thank you

Sunday July 8 at 19.30 p.m. We gathered at Wolfgang’s home in Maastricht, to celebrate Sages Day. The DVD ‘Shadow Play’ was viewed. Sweet and salty delicacies were consumed and also delicious coffee, tea and other drinks. We pondered, had pictures taken, joked and laughed. A passer-by would have seen and heard a bunch of adult ‘kids’ having a wonderful time together. But would the passer-by have understood why these adult ‘kids’ had such a pleasurable time? We doubt it! But of course, the adult ‘kids’ knew. We knew that life brought us together, to celebrate Sages Day and it was an inspiring, pleasant and delightful evening. Guruji’s sharing was as always delicious food and drink to these adult ‘kids’, and Guruji’s jokes were reminders that the mind is a big joke and that life is a wonderful mystical dance of light and sound. A passer-by might have heard the thundering laughter, but only the adult ‘kids’ knew why they had so much fun. Dear Guruji, thank You so much, for helping these adult ‘kids’ to understand life and make them laugh. Pure bliss. Congratulations on Sages Day. Love from all of us.

I am grateful that life has led me to a man who never pays any lip service; on the contrary, you just explain the illusoriness of the world, man and mind, no matter what or whether anybody likes it or not. You don’t care whether people call you a guru or not or believe that they are your followers or not. And yet, your concern with every one of us is real and not because you say it. Are we not swimming in grace now that life has taken us on a journey that reveals the reality of illusions? Yes, we are.

They are the most important thing I have found in this life. I listen to at least two CD's every day and read one of the articles from the website during my lunch time at work each day. Although I have only been doing this for a few weeks, I now laugh at so much of what goes on in my mind.
They are a great treasure and I need to hear each one several times so it may take me many years as Dr Shankar speaks them faster than I can buy them. I can only speak from my limited understanding and hope people will want to know more about the beloved Doctor.
