Preface
Is it possible to join with and be in the understanding, however

deep, of a realized being? Is it possible to be wholly in the

moment and in the being of one who is enlightened? Is it

possible in the moment for the impurities and colours of mind

to dissolve and for the pure light of the soul to be everywhere?

Is it possible, is it possible? Yes, yes, and again, yes. Such is the

purity radiating from Dr Shankar, even through words on a

page such as in the chapter ‘Purity’. Such a wonder. Inexpres-

sible gratitude to the author.

The Latins invented the word ‘neutral’ - neuter - meaning

neither one or other of the two, neither this nor that. Such is life

as presented so beautifully in this chapter. Without there being

any intention to do so or any judgement about the illusory world

of judgement, criticism and comment that circulates endlessly in

man’s mind, entertaining and torturing him in turn, the release

from believing in this circus is the gift of this chapter. Nor is it a

gift for it is life being itself and expressing itself as life. Hold on

to nothing for there is nothing to hold on to, least of all mind’s

realities.

There is no touch of individuality in any moment……………
