Birth of Moment
“Mystery”
Every man and woman takes a moment in daily life for granted. Every moment in daily life is the ‘here and now’. Therefore, the past is not behind the moment that is ‘here and now’.
This signifies that the past is an evolved moment that is ‘here and now’. Similarly, the future or the next moment is not ahead of the moment that is ‘here and now’, and the future or the next moment is the ‘here and now’ moment that man or woman is living.
In between the moment ‘here and now’ and the past moment is also a moment ‘here and now’. Similarly, in between the moment ‘here and now’ and the future next moment is also a moment ‘here and now’. This signifies that the moment ‘here and now’ is eternal and the past, present and the future are illusory thoughts in the moment ‘here and now’.
A moment is followed by the next moment is knowledge. Wisdom reveals that if there are many moments, there would be in between a moment and the next a moment as well. Wisdom signifies that a moment is eternal and a division between moments is not an actuality.
The eternal moment is a mystery and so too the moment that is not actual. Now, science as knowledge informs that the smallest unit of numerical time is one zepto second, which is one trillionth of a trillionth of a second. This is known in the moment as well.
Firstly, within this duration of time nothing could be done or could be known, but yet things are done in the moment and are known in the moment as well. This is a mystery of a moment as well.
Secondly, if the smallest unit of time could be added to make the next moment, then too to do any action or to know would not be possible, because to do any action or to know anything duration of time is needed.
If the time needed to do or to know were to happen, no action or the known could ever take place, as every action gets done and the known happens with different durations of time from minimum to maximum. But yet actions do happen in the moment and also the known. This is a mystery of the moment and that it cannot be solved is wisdom.
The enlightened have rightly proclaimed that life is beginningless and endless. This signifies that the birth of a moment is a mystery that cannot be solved by man or woman.

The wisdom of the enlightened is illuminating the enquiry into the birth of whatever is susceptible to enquiry. Thus far the enquirer has revealed the illusion of birth which is susceptible to enquiry. With each revelation of whatever is subject to being born, that which is not is transcended. The imaginary river of illusion is being crossed with each breath of the essence of life. Here and now is born the wonder of the crossing – the moment of the ‘here and now’ is not susceptible to enquiry – it is a mystery.

In everyday life, or better in everyday mind, the sayings about a moment are very common: “Take a moment.“ “Do you have a moment for me?“ That the speaker is separate from the moment is taken for granted. This is the basis of the belief that man can accommodate action, speech and thought into a moment. That this belief is, however, not the truth is shattering to the ego, for the ego is based on the “use of the moment“. Dr. Shankar‘s article “Birth of Moment“ puts the ego in the place where it belongs, into the moment that is not, but only appears to be.
