Effect
“Result”
An effect is a change which is a result or consequence of an action or other causes. A change indicates that it is a result. An effect is also the cause for something that happens or is brought about. Something that happens or is brought about means that it is achieved.
Now, the belief in a conditioned mind of man is that there is a cause or many causes for any consequence. Similarly, the belief is that there is a cause or many causes for a result, likewise to an action.
Similarly, the belief in a conditioned mind of man is that there is a cause or many causes for something that happens or for that which is brought about. The same belief is applicable to achievement, to mean that there is a cause or many causes for anything that is achieved.
But, nevertheless the conditioned mind believes that an effect is a result of a cause or to many causes and that an effect is separate from a cause. This is, however, knowledge and not wisdom. Now what is the wise understanding that clarifies that not only an effect is the same as a cause, it is not separate from a cause?
Therefore, it is obvious that an effect is a result of a cause and likewise a cause is a result of an effect. This signifies that an effect and a cause are the same. Also, a distinct division between the two, meaning between an effect and a cause, is absent to signify that effect and cause are the same.
But, nevertheless, the conditioned mind believes that an effect is a result of a cause or many causes and that an effect is separate from a cause. Now what is the understanding that clarifies that not only an effect is the same as a cause, it is not separate from a cause?
The understanding is reflected in evolution. Evolution is a continuous, spontaneous, uncontrollable and unpredictable singular movement, happening eternally.
Now this singular movement is a movement of energy. Energy is indivisible because, if energy were divisible, even the divided section in between the divided movement would be a movement of energy as well.
Therefore, the understanding that an effect is the result of a cause or many causes points to the fact that neither the cause of evolution is known to man, nor the cause of evolution is many.
This signifies that the intelligence in evolution manifests everything that happens in everyday life. The happening includes an effect which is neither a result of a cause nor of many causes. When deep understanding of this fact happens trust in the intelligence in life too happens. The enlightened in ancient times have declared that effect in everyday life is absent, to mean that a result by a cause or by many causes is absent as well.

Editor’s Note:
Once again the wisdom of the enlightened reflects precisely the intelligence of life. This is no surprise. What is a surprise, however, in what is reflected is that the deeply-rooted belief, nay conviction that the integrity of the cause-effect scenario in life is beyond question is simply that it is not the truth. Trust in life is the supreme gift of this revelation and deep gratitude.

Everybody wants to work effectively, use their time effectively and enjoy free time effectively too. Man is so much convinced of effects in life that he cannot just trust life that all happenings are happening by life. Only the wise can point out the effectiveness of life itself, as it happens here in this article by Dr. Shankar, as effective as effective can be.
