Eye Opener

“I opener”

The word ‘eye’ is heard as the letter ‘I’ which implies an individual. The letter ‘I’ of the alphabet is a phoneme, meaning a unit of sound. This indicates that the word eye, which implies the organ of sight, is a phoneme as well.

A word is a collection of sounds and they are heard as a single sound or a word by a man or woman. This is described in the article ‘A Word’. Similarly, the two words ‘Eye opener’ are a collection of sounds that appear as two words to the human mind.

The two words ‘Eye opener’ mean an event or a situation that proves to be unexpectedly enlightening. The words also mean something that makes you see a situation or the world differently.

Eye opener is something that makes you come to a realisation or forces you to change your perspective. An example of an eye opener is when you visit a foreign country and see with your eyes real poverty or richness for the first time.

Though man and woman know that they can speak words they, however, do not know how they speak words. Sounds happen in nature and as man is part of nature sounds happen to him or her as well.

Man and woman take it for granted that they can speak words of knowledge, though only sounds happen through them, just as sound happens through every living entity on earth.

Sounds are made by nature and, as everything in nature evolves, sounds evolve as well. Therefore, the sounds that nature makes through man and woman have evolved as words of knowledge that humans have.

This signifies that knowledge, which man and woman have, is sounds that have evolved as words of knowledge in the human mind. As everything evolves in life, it further signifies that understanding of knowledge, which man and woman have, has evolved as well.

As everything evolves in life, it further signifies that the intellect, which man and woman have, has evolved in them and that they have not made either intellect or understanding of knowledge. This is because life manifests evolution and man and woman do not manifest evolution.

It is, therefore, obvious that wisdom too evolves in man and woman just as knowledge has evolved in them and is what it is in any moment of life. This signifies that wisdom is what it is in man and woman in any moment in life.

To knowledge, poverty is that which it should not be and richness is this which it should be and the ‘this’ and ‘that’ of knowledge is an eye opener to the ‘I’. Wisdom, which is enlightening, reveals that poverty or richness in life is everywhere in different intensities and not just in one place as ‘this’ and ‘that’. This is an eye opener to the ‘I’ with wisdom.

Editor’s Note:
There is nothing in nature that does not evolve. It is life that manifests evolution, the process that attends upon every living creature, including man, who is in nature. As intellect has evolved in man as it is meant to evolve, whereby natural sounds appear as words with meaning, so does knowledge evolve with understanding as wisdom. The transformative energy of Dr Shankar’s words are opening our eyes to a new vision of the world we inhabit, which is wisdom. Thank you for this gift.

German Translator’s Note:
A child is born with two eyes and starts to see the world. It is the mind that thinks the world, not the eyes that see. From this point of view, all knowledge is in the mind. This worldview is the reality for the human being with knowledge. Dr. Shankar's article opens a deeper view of the knowledge of the mind. The inner eye of wisdom looks at the knowledge in the mind with the understanding that these are illusory sounds of nature that reflect words with meanings and make a private world appear in every single individual. What a miracle!
