Have
“Everything”
Everything that anyone owns is taken for granted that it belongs to them. Everyone is proud of what he possesses. Everyone, therefore, is eager to possess and own. This is considered normal to society.
Everyone is convinced that their efforts and determination have got them what they have, possess and own. Therefore, by superficial logic and reason what anyone has and owns is taken for granted that it belongs to them.
This is accepted as the truth and, therefore, everyone is advised to work hard so that he or she will be able to own and possess what he or she desires wishes or wants.
But deep logic and reason reveal that superficial logic and reason, however, is not the truth. So what could this deep logic and reason be that refutes superficial truth is the question?
The deep logic and reason is: whatever anyone has in the moment is everything and neither he nor she can have more than what is present in the moment. This needs to be understood deeply.
The first point that needs to be deeply understood is that everyone desires, wishes or wants to have everything in the future. Superficial logic and reason accept that the future is away from where one is.
Deep logic and reason, however, point out that the future is not away from where he or she is. Deep logic and reason point out that the future is as the present moment, where he or she is.
This signifies that every moment is the future, but it is known to superficial logic and reason as the present. That the present is the future is wisdom and not knowledge.
The second point that needs to be deeply understood is that only one thing can be owned or possessed in a moment and not two in the same moment. But to superficial logic and reason many things can be owned and possessed in the moment.
This, however, is impossible. Memory of different things is present in the moment, which gives a deception that many things can be owned and possessed in the moment.
The third important point to understand deeply is that a moment manifests man and what is in the moment, and man neither makes the moment nor has time to make anything in the moment.
The enlightened understand that life gifts them and whatever is within the moment to them. They understand deeply that the moment and what is within the moment is everything that they or anyone can have.
The enlightened also understand that what they or anyone have is gifted by the intelligence in life. This brings gratitude and trust in life.

Editor’s note:
We live in and on memories. There are and have been many popular songs that celebrate this experience of living. Memory has morphed as reality. Life’s priceless gift of memory enables man to live with this substitute reality, as he or she is meant to. As this article reveals, in the deep understanding of the enlightened there is no such substitute. Each moment has the fullness of life’s gifts for each and every human being. There is no other case.

German Translator’s Note:
In life it is wise to like what you have in every moment, as a precious gift of life, instead of trying to have more of what you like. Many possessions give man the illusion of having many things at the same time. That all we have is in the moment is the insight of the wise, as presented here in this article “Have“ by Dr. Shankar.
