Hope (3)

“Expect”

Understand that the mind is sometimes with a thought and always with light and sound. Understand that the thought in the mind is an illusion of sound which is in the moment.

All that exists in life is light and sound and sound appears as illusory thoughts in the mind. Not real. Man or woman cannot speak a real word. All that he or she is making is sounds which appear to the mind as a word.

Understand that you cannot hope to make sound. Understand that sound comes out of you, whether you hope or do not hope. Understand that sound sometimes appears as words, whether you like it or not.

Understand that the moment in the mind is specific, including the sound which is in the moment. Understand that the sound in any moment cannot be other than the sound which is in the moment.

Understand that the illusory word in any moment cannot be other than the word that is in any moment. Understand that to hope for a word may or may not happen in any moment.

Understand that a meaning will be conveyed by a word to the particular person through whom the sound is uttered. No other meaning will be conveyed by the word beside what is conveyed to the particular person by the intelligence in life.

Understand that to hope a person conveys a particular meaning to a word that you want to hear may or may not happen. Understand to insist on a particular meaning may or may not happen.

The moment you understand that every word in your mind is an illusion of sound, you are wise. The moment you understand that every meaning in your mind is an illusion of sound, you are wise.

Enlightenment is a thoughtless state. It is a timeless state. As long as your mind thinks a word is real within its mind; as long as you believe that meaning is real in your mind; as long as you are convinced that your mind is real and the word is real and the meaning is real, you will hope.

The enlightened never hope. The enlightened live every moment as it is, which is light and sound.

Editor’s Note:
Man lives with the illusory projections of life which are constantly changing. They have no permanence, for they come and therefore they must go. Quite simply they are illusions of light and sound, as is revealed by the wise. Significantly, this includes the most used asset in human society, which is word. Hardly a moment passes without containing a word. The understanding of the wise that word is the gift of the intelligence of life is not appreciated by mind with thoughts. Such a mind values and guards man’s right to freedom of speech, which includes freedom of thought and freedom to hope. The wise reveal that to hope is for how life should happen and not acceptance of life as it happens. To live life as it happens in every moment is the supreme gift of understanding, if it happens.

German Translator‘s Note:
Hopes in everyday life are manifold, one hopes for certain events, insights or even for certain words. But also the hope for a certain understanding of the words that are uttered is an integral part of everyday life in relationships, with friends or at work. The point is to avoid being misunderstood. It is about making your own opinion understandable. And last but not least, it is about wanting the other person to share a certain meaning of one's own words as the right meaning. This article points out how illusory words and their meanings are. And how illusory, therefore, is the hope for a "correct" understanding of words. A play of light and sound, whose temporary appearance as words with meanings will not be taken too seriously once words and hopes have been understood as illusory.
