Intelligence 3

“Meant to react”

The conditioned mind of man and woman convinces them that they react to the actions of others in life. This is because they are convinced that they as well as others are the doers.

This conditioning not only separates one from the other, it also leaves a man and woman vulnerable to the emotional consequences of reactions, both to the positive and negative reactions and those affected by them.

Reactions in general strengthen the belief that man and woman are doers because they react. This belief contradicts the wisdom of the enlightened. The wisdom of the enlightened is: neither man nor woman is a doer.

Therefore, what could be the understanding that would convince everyone that neither man nor woman is a doer? A deep understanding of a man and woman’s reaction would go a long way in de-convincing the conditioned mind of humans.

The intelligence in life evolves every moment. Neither man nor woman makes a moment in life. This signifies that whatever there is in the moment is what it is and neither man nor woman makes what is in the moment.

The intelligence in life is precise. A moment and whatever is within the moment is precise as well. Different colours in a petal of a flower are an example of the precision of the intelligence in life.

A reaction is a movement, either of a body or of thoughts. The body and thoughts move before the reaction as well, but the movement of the body or thoughts are not labelled as a reaction.

Similarly, the body and thoughts move after the reaction as well, but the movement of the body or thoughts after the reaction are not labelled as a reaction.

The intelligence in life precisely manifests a reaction as it is meant to be. It is neither man nor woman who makes a reaction to be what it is in any moment of life.

The precision of the intelligence in life signifies that a distinct cut-off point between one reaction and the next is absent, just as a distinct cut-off point between different colours on a petal of a flower is absent.

This implies that the body is in a singular movement and this singular movement of the body appears intermittently as illusory reactions. This deep understanding of life indicates what the enlightened have proclaimed: Man is not the doer. Life indeed is a singular movement and reactions are albeit an auditory and optical illusion of light and sound.

Editor’s Note:
The intelligence of life donates a name or a label to assist identification with and communication about anything and everything in creation. The label ‘reaction’ has been given to the experience, usually emotional, of one person to what is perceived to be the action of another person. The reaction experienced is commonly experienced as being real and has consequences, also believed to be real. The deep understanding of the wise, as gifted in this article, reveals the illusory nature of reactions, albeit precisely manifested by life, in its singular movement. Understanding this is wisdom.

German Translator’s Note:
Reactions are common for all of us in daily life. They are so convincing that we believe, we react. A reaction happens due to the conviction that man is a doer. And a reaction convinces man that he is a doer. This cycle of conditioning is slowly escaped if the intelligence in life pervades the human mind. This wisdom is provided in Dr. Shankar’s articles.
