Miracle

“Nature”

Nature is taken for granted and it is not understood as yet to be a miracle, which cannot be determined as to how it began. This applies to everything that exists as nature, including the weather.

Among everything that exists in nature are fruits that grow on trees, for example, the fruit orange. The orange tree and the fruit orange grow from a seed which has nothing within it.

The seed with nothing within it is a miracle by itself because how the first seed, with nothing within it, ever came to exist can never be determined. This also applies to every seed that grows as vegetation.

How the outer covering of the seed ever came can never be determined. From where the outer covering of the seed ever came can never be determined. The beginning and the end of the seed covering can never be determined either. It is a miracle in nature.

How the entire tree that bears oranges grows out of nothing in the seed can never be determined. How the entire tree that bears oranges grows branches and leaves out of nothing in the seed can never be determined either. It is a miracle in nature.

How every leaf of the tree that bears oranges is green in colour and how the colour green grows out of nothing in the seed can never be determined. How the oranges that grow on an orange tree are orange in colour can never be determined either.  It is a miracle in nature.

How the wall of an orange grows out of nothing in the seed can never be determined. How the orange fruit contains orange juice can never be determined either.  It is a miracle in nature.

How the many segments within an orange with their own wall, which has neither a beginning nor an end, grow out of nothing in the seed can never be determined. How each pulp within the segment grows its own sac without a beginning or an end with orange juice within it can never be determined either. It is a miracle in nature.

How the orange fruit contains seed in the centre of the fruit grows from nothing in the original seed can never de determined.  Similarly, how the orange fruit, which contains seed in the centre, has nothing within it, but yet grows as an orange- bearing tree with oranges can never be determined. It is a miracle in nature.

How the orange fruit has its own taste, smell and vitamins out of nothing in the seed can never be determined.  It is a miracle in nature.

Similarly, everything that grows in nature is a miracle. How a moment in nature, together with whatever is within it, happens can never be determined. It is a miracle.

Similarly, how a moment in daily life, together with whatever is within it, happens can never be determined. It is a miracle. This signifies that nature and daily life is a miracle.

Editor’s Note:
To walk freely and without limitation in a grove of trees is a privilege bestowed by nature on every man, woman and child – not to mention on the pet dogs, the wild animals, the birds and the insects. This community of nature delights each one of us as the seasons bring change, decomposition and new birth. Deep understanding and appreciation of this miracle of nature, as revealed in this article, ushers in silent wonder and gratitude.
Julian Capper, UK.

German Translator’s Note:
Commonly a miracle is something extraordinary for man and woman. Dr. Shankar shows us the wonder of life and reveals how easily the limits of the mind are taken for real, because extraordinary means that it is not expected by the conditioned logic and reason of the mind. A miracle is not the extraordinary alone but also the ordinary, that which the ego takes for granted. That nature is a miracle in every speck of the universe, be it a plant, an animal or a human being, a planet or the sun, leaves us astonished, if we look deeply into the miracle of life.
Marcus Stegmaier, Germany.
