Self-Enquiry 8

Self-enquiry is honest enquiry of not only who you are, but also what you are.
Self-enquiry is also an honest enquiry into what objects, vegetation and animals are.

Self-enquiry is honest whether the egg came first or the chicken came first. This enquiry is difficult to answer by those with knowledge. It is, however, explained by those with wisdom of self-enquiry. So what is the explanation by the wise, is the question? The explanation of the wise is given in article Self-Enquiry 2.

The explanation of the conundrum whether the seed came first or the plant came first is given in the article Self-Enquiry 4.

The self-enquiry could also be whether a seed of a human came first or did the human come first?

It is paradoxical that, when the meaning conveyed by knowledge is deeply understood by humans, the wisdom of self-enquiry is revealed. Scientific knowledge of elements reveals the wisdom of elements when the deep meaning of elements is understood by humans. Wisdom of the scientific knowledge of elements reveals that every atom of an element is light.

This wisdom signifies that light appeared as illusory elements first. Also that light appeared as different elements as well. It is impossible to determine the first element that appeared on earth.

The enlightened, due to self-enquiry, have rightly proclaimed that life is beginningless and endless. This signifies that any element on earth, albeit illusory, has neither a beginning nor an end.

This further implies that illusory elements appear as an illusory seed. This signifies that particular elements appeared as a seed for individual humans. This signifies that a seed for a human came first and the first seed expressed as a first human. The elements within the first human appeared as a seed for a human and the cycle of the conundrum was set in motion by the intelligence in life.

The enlightened, due to self-enquiry, understand the wisdom a human seed and a human well. Therefore, they admire the intelligence of light and its expression in any moment. They do not expect a human seed or a human to be other than what it is in any moment.

Editor’s Note:
The human mind is accustomed to accepting or rejecting propositions through different filters, such as belief, faith, reason, logic, intuition or, indeed, knowledge. It may be difficult to penetrate the filter: ‘A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.’ However, when the meaning of a given proposition or the cycle of conundrum, as presented in these articles, is deeply understood, meaning is transformed as wisdom. Deep understanding cannot be taught or practised. It is the gift of the intelligence of life.

German Translator’s Note:
The miracle of life reaches its peak in a human seed, for man is the only living being who can admire his own seed as a miracle of life. In man, in the human mind, life, so to speak, becomes aware of itself. This opens up the possibility of self-enquiry, as Dr. Shankar shows in this series of wise articles.
