Triad (1)

“Do, Speak, Think”

Triad means a group of three. Doing, speaking and thinking is a group of three functions in humans. Human beings are fixed in this triad. The triad happens to humans and they know the functions after the function happens to them.

Each function of the triad happens one at a time in each moment. The moment that happens with the function of the triad is not made by humans. The moment is the same for all humans, but the space of the moment is not the same.

Humans understand the different functions within the triad in different spaces and this makes them believe that the function within the triad is done by humans, either as man, woman or child.

Humans will be able to perform the function within the triad only if humans are able to make the moment in which the triad is. Humans do not make the moment in which they are. The moment contains humans.

Humans within the moment are as they are and they cannot be other than what they are within the moment. This implies that within the moment humans appear like a child or appear like an adult.

This signifies that a child cannot appear to be an adult in the same moment when there is only a child within the moment. There are different children in different spaces within the moment.

Each child exhibits one function of the triad do, speak and think in a moment and this function cannot be other than what the function is. The function within the triad may be different or similar in different children within the moment in different spaces.

This observation deceives humans into believing that the children do the functions of the triad within the moment. This is not the truth. It will be the truth only if children are able to make the moment in which they are and children do not make any moment in life.

Each adult exhibits one function of the triad: do, speak and think, in a moment and this function cannot be other than what the function is. The function within the triad may be different or similar in different adults within the moment in different spaces.

This observation deceives humans into believing that adults do the functions of the triad within the moment. This is not the truth. It will be the truth only if adults are able to make the moment in which they are and adults do not make any moment in life.

The enlightened accept the functions of the triad within the moment. They do not expect the functions to be other than what they are in any moment. The enlightened accept the moment as it is with the triad or the lack of it within it.

Editor’s Note:
To be a human being is to be in command of the functions of doing, speaking and thinking, so it is believed. These are regarded by humans as the prime attributes that distinguish them from all other animate creatures and also -  more significantly - from other fellow, human beings in daily activities. In wisdom, however, the enlightened reveal that this triad of functions cannot be attributed to human endeavour or superiority of talent. The humans neither make the moment in which they are, nor the content of any moment in which they are. Understanding this is the start of release from the bondage of doership.

German Translator‘s Note:
The triad of doing, speaking and thinking defines the everyday life of every human, his place in society and the character attributed to him, as well as his moral condition. The triad of human activities is obviously embedded in the happenings of the nature that surrounds him: different spaces with different conditions in relation to the things, plants, animals and humans found in a particular space or place. For knowledge, this means that at every moment the human finds a situation created by nature, in which a certain way of doing, speaking and thinking is open to him to create. Deciding on this human triad is considered freedom of will and action. Wisdom understands nature and humans as oneness and the triad of doing, speaking and thinking as an inseparable aspect of this oneness of life in every moment. As evidence here, Dr. Shankar states the simple fact that the moment and all that it contains, including all humans and their activities, are not created by humans. Wisdom is irrefutable in a rational and logical way. Knowledge is contradictory, while it appears logical and reasonable.
