LETTERS RECEIVED BY THE “ACADEMY”

Manoj, UAE

Having seen some of Dr.Shankar’s videos, I was so moved that tears rolled down my eyes. Every word of his if understood can bring in quantum change in the listener, ofcourse only to those who are destined. When I contemplated on his simple statement about doership, it was enough for me to understand that if man cannot bring about happiness always in his own mind, which should be the simplest of acts to perform, its nothing but ignorance that we stake claims for any acts /doerships.
Dr.Shankar is todays true living sage, if this understanding happens through your website to many, you have done a great service to humanity, knowing very well that we can only wish. My sincere respects to all associated with this effort.

The implications of Dr. Shankar’s words stun the mind and bring loving tears – thank you for coming into my life. Love

Thank you so much for guiding me through the jungle of mind. I see now the beauty of the jungle. I feel free most of the time and I feel supported by life. There are no words to express my love and deep gratitude

FILM “Non-Duality – Life as it is” scheduled release September 18th 2010

Director Floris Ramaekers discusses with Dr. Shankar the steps of the documentary “Non- Duality – Life as it is ‘. Advaita will be explained visually for the first time in history.

Floris and his international team are aiming to complete the film by September.

About the film:

Humans perceive their daily life in the world as a reality. This is due to the belief of cause and effect. This belief creates thoughts of actions, which convince man that his day is filled with events and situations. Conclusions about these make way for emotions, which include feelings, such as misery and the quest for happiness, that man experiences. This documentary, based on the books written by Dr. Vijai S. Shankar, crosses the boundaries of mind by stripping away beginnings and endings and the concept of time, thereby exposing the reality of doership as illusory. The documentary unveils time and reality for what they really are, which is an optical and auditory illusion of light and sound.

“Evolution of Mind”

18th September 2010

COMMENT: Chapter emotion in ‘Evolution of Mind’

Julian Capper, UK

The chapter entitled Evolution of Emotion in the book Evolution of Mind is revealing such an extraordinary secret of life. Each and every moment in life flows for man so that he may live - in it. He lives in this flow where there is no thinking, no speaking, no doing as an actuality. Even in the moment of knowing mind’s feelings, emotion and involvement with its so-called activities, even in the knowledge of mind’s restlessness, man is alive. Life’s peace is not dependent on any cessation of this restlessness of the mind - if it were, it could not be real. Appreciation of this evolves the mind and sophisticates the ego. Then life’s abundance is realised; it needs no helping hand. This is the real charity where there is no agency. Such gratitude for the wisdom flowing through Dr Shankar.

MEETING IN ANTWERP

LETTERS: Meeting day 25th July

Readers Club

Ever since the book launch of KG 1 the ladies readers club Carla, Riet, Diny and Lucile came together once a week and read the KG 1 till KG 7, The Power of Illusion and just finished The evolution of mind. Reading together meaning each having a turn in reading out loud, stopping when something is not understood, trying to find out what could be meant by what is written, discussing about it and sharing whatever small insights have happened to us concerning the topic we are reading about. This way we are so fortunate to have spent plenty of precious time together inspired and guided by your written words.

Somewhere we started to put one euro in a bag each reading club session, just for fun. In time the bag became sort of heavy of euros and we amused ourselves seeing it growing bit by bit, at the same time having less and less idea what purpose it finally should serve…till it became clear, now with Guru Poornima. On this special day Guru Poornima 25th july, we are happy and also find it appropriate in a nice way to give the collection of our weekly contribution as a small gift to You in gratitude for the wisdom You share via your books with humanity, thus including too the blessed ladies of the readers club.

Lucile, Maastricht

Thank You for the wonderful time we could spend with You last Sunday on Guru Poornima day. Thank You for the effort You made in traveling that distance. Thank You for the beautiful words You spoke, for the unforgettable clarification You gave about Your intention for us, which touched me very much and which I’ll keep close to my heart. Thank You for allowing us to be in Your presence, which gave the gathering its – not in words to describe – specialness and preciousness. I feel very fortunate that I could be part of it and I surely will cherish everything of it.

Teun, Maastricht

First of all I would like to thank You sooo much for this unforgettable Sunday at Christianne's house. I'm very touched to see how concerned You are about us all and that this goes so far, I think there are no words to describe this. This meeting in Your presence was very special to me. It showed me clearly Your love to bring us all to that understanding that conquers death. You shared with us such incredible wisdom. I just want to thank You for the wisdom, love You give to my whole family. I can only be grateful after all these years and especially this Sunday.

Anil Swami, USA

You have patiently guided me over the past 10 years -- I first met you in 2000 at the airport in Tampa and you recognized me, although I didn't know who you were - "that is the boy", you said putting your hand on my shoulder. Something caused me to fall and touch your feet -- it was my soul saying "ah, finally, my Guru is here" Through the years, you have patiently and compassionately helped me along the path. I am very grateful. Just this thought brings the tears flowing. Thank you Guruji! As the great mystic, Kabir is purported to have said - "I will forsake God for Guru, as Guru shows the path to God". I agree, I understand, albeit intellectually, that we do nothing and all just happens. Nevertheless, I know and feel your hand on the tiller of my Life guiding me towards Understanding -- for this I am grateful. I offer you my deepest gratitude this Guru Poornima day and pledge to spend some time today reading a few pages from one of the wonderful books you have written and reflecting on your teachings.

NEW INTERVIEW: Dr. Shankar with R. Miller (never not here/ Chigaco)

Dr. Shankar's “hard-hitting wisdom”

Click to see interview on recorded on 14 july 2010

COMMENT: Interview on NNH

Colleen Loehr, USA

Dr. Shankar points out that thought is a word, a vibration of sound, and that mind is sound. I have never heard this put quite in this way before, and it is very helpful to me. When the mind is perceived by the light of life as sound, there is a sense of equanimity, a sense of not needing to get tangled up and reactive to the sounds of thought. Dr. Shankar also points out that man believes his thinking is seeing. Thinking is thinking, it is not seeing. When thinking is erroneously equated with seeing, there is blindness that is believed to be vision. Dr. Shankar's communication in this video helps me to recognize this blindness of mind and to therefore no longer be deluded by it. Thank you.
