"Life is light and sound"

Dr.Vijai S Shankar

Here is

New article: "What life is"

“Light and Sound”

The meaning of life has not been found as yet by man, philosophers, the knowledgeable, the religious and the atheists as well. The enlightened, however, have proclaimed that life is a play of light and sound and is illusory. The proclamation is difficult to understand, because light and sound in daily life to man is real and not illusory. The images of subjects, objects seen, and thoughts recognised in daily life by man are real to him and not illusory.

So how could man understand that life is illusory? The only option is to examine and validate to understand the subject and the object seen, spoken and thought of in daily life. The understanding could be later applied to vegetation and animal kingdom.

Sight: What is seen outside is actually a label of an image of subject or object. Every atom of the subject or object seen outside is, however, light. The function of the eye is to receive light-waves from the outside. The light-waves reach the brain whose every atom is light as well.

The same phenomenon happened to the primitive man as well. Light-waves that  .......read further

Comment: Article ‘What life is.’

Julian Capper, UK.
This article ‘What life is’ by Dr. Vijai S Shankar provides an enlightened and very welcome insight into understanding and appreciating the life which every human being lives. Understanding the significance of the evolutionary process, for which man has no responsibility whatsoever, is a huge step, albeit in its early period, towards deconditioning the mind. The description of the child’s entry into the conditioned world of mind is sublime, yet it is appreciated that the tasks assigned to the great Hercules, one of which was the cleaning out of the Augean stables, pale into insignificance next to that being undertaken by Dr. Shankar in cleaning out the conditioned mind. Words can scarcely express the gratitude for such enlightenment. Please read the article by Dr. Vijai S Shankar.

There are no words to describe this WONDER-full article ‘What life is’. This article full of wisdom cannot be written by 'man'. In this article man is invited to observe a child deeply to understand the nature of the mind. This very clear explanation will help humanity to become life. What a gift. Thank You!!

A child gets to know what life is, this is the belief of every parent. And it is true, every human being’s mind evolves to know the world and this is believed to be life as it is. However, this article ‘What life is’ by Dr. Vijai S Shankar reveals the proclamation of the sages that life is lived and life is not what the mind thinks it is. Man believes it is enough to know one’s own mind to know life. Thanks Dr. Shankar for sharing a deeper insight and an understanding of what life really is, which cannot be known by the mind, but can only be lived.

Letter to AOA:

Again your words in the September newsletter about 'WHAT IS SAID' touch me deeply. All you have shared so far I accepted it and no doubt entered the mind.
Nevertheless it needs courage to be steady and face life directly. The fake self appears sometimes still very real!  But watching life alertly over the years moment by moment the conviction has cemented finally from within that LIFE IS HAPPENING and we are in very safe hands. No doubt that life is revealing the absolute wisdom by making Dr. Shankar speak...... With eternal gratitude

I listened already several times. Thank you for this wonderful gift The CD 'Life is what it is' helped me a lot to understand how the mind got conditioned. Since I was told to be a very efficient doer and planer I searched for an ideal life with ideal job, lover and health - believing that would make me happy.  Not knowing that duality is the fabric of life I rejected one side of the coin and was even striving harder to prevent and suppress the dislikes. More certainly this was all a happening too, but not being aware of it. There was always fear of the uncertainty of life believing my restless limited mind is reporting what is happening in life. Listening to you was a shock in the beginning and now the seed seems to grow slowly. The certainty that life is dialectical brings trust in the uncertainty of life and rejection is more and more replaced by acceptance. If planning happens I watch it not bothered how it will work out. I cannot see the whole picture and it will pass anyway. Knowing that I am alive let me enjoy the mystery of an illogical life. Now my ideal life is that which is happening every moment because it's the only one I've got. It is meant to happen and expressed by an extraordinary intelligent source I can trust in absolutely.

Comment: CD ‘Anger (3)’

Elisabeth, Netherlands
I am always touched when Dr. Shankar reveals about primordial man. In the satsang Dr. Shankar conveys how primordial man's desires were references to nature, how primordial man started liking and disliking, and how he had his fear trying to control nature. What an incredible realisation bringing me closer to myself. In Anger (3) it becomes clear that the concepts in a mind of what anger is will stick to us and not bring us to a steady state of existence. Energy has to transform itself into another form, it has to move. I listened to the satsang over and over again, with my own concepts of what anger could be, and I am ever so grateful for this magnificent sharing.

Recommended book: "Evolution of mind"

Review

Not since the publication of The Origin of the Species in 1859 has a book of such importance been published. The Evolution of Mind, printed in January 2010, charts with meticulous precision and unparalleled clarity man’s inner journey in life’s evolutionary path.

This is the work of a living Indian sage, Dr Vijai Shankar, who, uniquely, speaks and writes in English. It is the realisation of a man who, trained as a medical doctor and scientist, has devoted his career to sharing his deep understanding of the evolution of mind across the world.

Man, he reveals, rests his entire human case and places his total dependence on the subtle processes of his mind: beliefs, feelings, emotions, memory, language, meanings. He has taken the world of opposites – the duality of right and wrong, black and white, good and bad, moral and immoral, spiritual and materialistic – to be the benchmark of life itself, in short, to be his reality.

In this evolutionary process, however, man is yet to awaken to the wisdom and intelligence of life. Dr Shankar explains that man’s utter conviction in the belief that he is the doer, thinker and speaker holds him in bondage and robs him of the miracle of living life.

When it happens that man crosses beyond the confines of illusory mind, he will discover freedom that surpasses all imagination and expectation – a freedom, which once found, can never be lost.
