Dr. Vijai S Shankar.
Humans observe instinctively. Observation is a natural characteristic of life. Other living species live instinctively. Man observes as a result of evolution of identity as an individual. Observation helps man to identify and to conclude. To identify and to conclude happens due to evolution of human intellect and understanding. Understanding too evolves either as knowledge or wisdom. Knowledge helps man through observation to determine what is happening and why does it happen. The identification and conclusion are supported by logic and reason. Now, what it is that distinguishes knowledge from wisdom regarding what and why needs to be pondered wisely... Click here to read further.

Dr Shankar’s article provides such an important insight into the process of evolution. There is no scope for intellectual conclusions of superiority or inferiority within the whole expanse of life. Nothing in life can influence the evolutionary path – it is as it is. The understanding, through wisdom, that it is so is the greatest gift of life. Man may show his gratitude for this gift by reflecting deeply on the words. Thank you.

Conclusions are the hallmark of daily life. It is the guide for every human being. Without any conclusion, fear would be present, simply because man is devoid of trust in life. This article by Dr. Shankar is very deep: Only a brave man or woman can grasp the depth of understanding presented here in simple words. Trust is needed for the understanding to cement in daily life, however understanding is needed for trust to happen – which comes first could never be known, because both just happen without a cause, mysteriously.

Good morning dear Guruji,
The recommended CD 'Colours' as well as the article 'Green Leaves' in the april Wisdom-letter shares deep aspects of Advaita. I am extremely touched and grateful. Man believes that what he is thinking about life is life. He perceives Iife through the interpretation of the five senses, means he confronts life through words as sound which is nothing but energy or light. The colour of light is white, like the electromagnetic radiations of sunlight is just light and not coloured light. This light appears as seven colours going through the prism of the mind. White light includes all shades of colours. Colours and shapes are necessary in life for identification and recognition to happen. The same life is reflected through different colours as a transformation of energy according to the different patterns of numerous minds. Dr Shankar clarifies why the colour in two minds is never identical. All words are shades of colours, we don't see colours, we think colours as a mental experience. So the statement at the end of the article 'Green Leaves' may be shocking: 'Colour is an interpretation of wavelengths, one that only exists internally'. Furthermore is explained how the specific colours express in different minds as the world. To be steady in the white colour is our natural state. The clarity and depth of wisdom Dr.Shankar is sharing here and elsewhere is incomparable and irrefutable. It is not taught in any university and guiding to a deeper understanding of life. Whoever is listening to this Cd will be a blessed one.
With gratitude and love

What a beautifull and clear article about seeing. As I earlier mentioned the scientific vision on seeing comes a step closer to the advaitic wisdom. Professor Peter Gouras, a dutch expert in retina-electrofysics says: 'There is no color in the outer world. Seeing colors is an illusion created by our brain. Thanks for this illuminating article.
