Advaita means not two "

Article: "Advaita ‘Not Two’"

By Dr. Vijai S Shankar

The word ‘Dvaita’ in Sanskrit language means duality. The prefix ‘a’ in the word ‘Advaita’ according to Sanskrit language means advaita is non-duality, meaning not two. Wisdom reveals that in a moment only one can exist and neither two nor many.

Comments: Article ‘Advaita’

Julian Capper, UK.
Plato’s Allegory of the Cave throws light on reality: what is the nature of reality? This allegory or story is for man who lives in the darkness of the cave and, wittingly or unwittingly, seeks the way out. The shadows cast by the objects right in front of him on the wall of the cave are man’s reality. The deep understanding of the enlightened, as revealed in this article, on the nature of reality is both remarkable and transformative. The revealing light may gradually release man on his pathway in life from the shadows, albeit illusory, if it is meant to happen.

Marcus Stegmaier, Germany.
That Advaita is not a philosophy that could be right or wrong is made clear in this article. Advaita is a word that describes the irrefutable wisdom about the true nature of the unity of life. Deep exploration of every aspect of daily life, starting from the five elements, air, water, heat (fire), earth, time and space, which are one at every moment, the one moment, and not two or many, as explained in this article by Dr. Shankar, reveals Advaita as the nature of all existence hidden from the human mind.

Article ‘Advaita’ is a very good article! Advaita is nature. Enjoyed!

Article ‘Why (2)’ is wisdom. Whole knowledge is founded on the question ‘why’. Every answer on this question is a belief. Dr. Shankar explains from the bottom how illusory this question is, meaning all knowledge is illusory. What an impact!! Thank You!!

Article More (1) is a very good article Enjoyed!!

The articles More’ point to the myriad ways that we have been innocently deluded by society into the belief that “more" is better. In this article Dr. Shankar very clearly points out the ways that this illusion of ‘’more’' runs our lives until we realize something more is at play. Thank you Dr. Shankar for this series of articles and for their potentially liberating effect.

In the Newsletter I read about the interview with Conscious TV. Beautiful. With what a strength and kindness wisdom was conveyed! Thanks for it,

The new CD 'MIND THE FIFTH SEASON IN LIFE' is a precious gift in many ways. It conveys that everything in life has the four seasons in it and changing weather is outside as well as inside. Weather in the mind is conditions. So clearly explained why happiness is always projected on tomorrow, away from here (where the beauty is)! When we want something, energy gets built up in us because of conditions in the mind. When we have finally got what we desire, a release from the conditions becomes a relief and we think we are happy. What a roundabout way. Wherever the conditions are not present there is life in its aliveness at that time wherein we become eternal - a state of no conditions. Furthermore the statement 'Where there is an exhibition of the ego, take it for granted, it's a run away process from your center' had a great impact on me. Whoever is interested in deep inquiry of the mechanism of the mind should listen to this CD. I will keep it close to my heart. Thank you so much! With love and gratitude.

In the editor's note to the article Jealousy (1) (Behaviour) Julian states that the belief that man is the doer is fertile ground for the rise of jealousy. That was an eye-opener for me.  In the chapter Behaviour in The Power of Illusion, the power of illusion over sight is first revealed to make it possible for us to understand the illusion of behaviour. Every time I read the chapter I knew something was missing in my understanding and it made me scrutinize every paragraph once again. What a wonderful reading. But hallelujah, it is not easy. Thank You.

Dear Dr. Shankar,
Thank you for all the articles and very much appreciating the ones on patience. Such a grace

So happy that in the September Newsletter recommendation is made to watch the interview in Conscious TV. It is like watching a thriller! Also the article ADVAITA is so profound revealing that anything and everything that exists is an optical and auditory illusion of the one that exists in any moment in life, or nature, which is consciousness as the five elements. I am touched by the beautiful articles on Trust and Patience. To be patient in every moment in life as it is. With deepest gratitude,.
